Episode 037: THAT WordPress and WP Engine drama

Oct 1, 2024 | Podcast

Did you hear that *something* was going on with WordPress and WP Engine? Does this affect you and your website? Well, I’m hopping back on my podcast to share my thoughts.

Listen on: SpotifyApple Podcasts.

Here’s the scoop: One of the co-founders of WordPress, Matt, has a business conflict with web hosting company, WP Engine.

This has caused a lot of issues to businesses who host their websites on WP Engine. For instance, some have been unable to update plugins.

I care about this, because I’ve been a long-time user of WordPress.

I think it’s a legitimate platform to build websites on. And I want to help ensure everything goes right with your business’s web presence.

I don’t think this is the end of WordPress. It could be, but I’m hopeful it isn’t. It may just be the end of WordPress as we know it.

So what can you do?

  • If you have a WordPress website, and it’s not hosted on WP Engine, you’ll be okay!
  • Don’t let anyone scare you out of your website plans, and into other platforms.
  • Reach out and talk to a few different people before you decide to jump and switch platforms.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have concerns. I’m happy to talk things out.
