30 years of enriched connection over the internet

Nearly 30 years ago, something changed my life forever.

Dial-up internet arrived at my family’s home.

I was instantly enchanted.

☎️🎶 Boop beep beep beep beep ~ Was the sound of our landline telephone temporarily granting access to the world wide web. (Back then, the internet was accessed over wired telephone connection.)

I saw something that allowed me to express my creativity and share interests with people all over the world.

To this day, the internet has remained a special interest of mine.

And this goes beyond a surface level internet of the novelty or tech value of it…

I love figuring out how best to use web pages as tools for communication and connection.

Some may criticise websites or apps like TikTok or ChatGPT for rotting our minds…

But I remain determined to find ways to enrich the lives of people around me, and in the global community.

We can use the internet as more than a distraction.

We can connect and share our talents and gifts with people who otherwise wouldn’t have found us.

This, I feel, is my greatest purpose, as a web designer — to help enable these enriching connections.
